Their hotel provides a perfect blend of Austrian tradition and modern comforts. It has a spacious spa and is renowned for its excellent cuisine. The Austrians are justly proud of their beautiful country. It has a wealth of history, art, architecture and music, and the splendid Baroque palaces and buildings are a constant reminder of the Hapsburg Empire.
You depart on your direct flight from Dublin to Munich. On arrival you will be met by our Mackin Travel tour leader and our local tour guide and transferred by coach to your hotel. For more information on the hotel check their website www.falkenstein.at/en. Accommodation is on a half board basis.
A free day to explore the surrounding area. of Kaprun and nearby the lake resort of Zell am See. Kaprun is a lovely village overlooked by the Kitzteinhorn Glacier. The main street, W.Fazakas Strasse, is a pedestrianised area where you you will find shops, banks, restaurants, bars, and the tourist office.Over the years our clients have loved their stay in this beautiful village with its dramatic setting.
After breakfast you will depart on a full day excursion to Salzburg, situated on the south bank of the Salzach river, Salzburg is a Baroque fiesta of churches, plazas, courtyards and fountains. The city is best known for Austria’s famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His birthplace and house are museums of his life and works. Museums, houses, squares, chocolate bars and liqueurs are all part of one giant homage to Mozart. The Getreidegasse is a lively shopping street adorned with wrought iron signs which provide a picturesque touch. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon giving you plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful city.

The unique charms of the area have been appreciated for many years - as during the period of the Habsburg Empire, the emperors and noble families of Austria chose this location for their summer holidays. We visit the picturesque village of Hallstatt, such an unbelievably spectacular place that even the Chinese have created a copy of the ancient salt mine village. Our lunch time stop is in the picturesque town of Mondsee, located on the shore of Lake Mondsee. Here we have the opportunity to visit the church which was used for the wedding in the Sound of Music.
Today after breakfast we travel to Munich, the capital city of Bavaria. You will have free time to enjoy its elegant plazas, medieval alleyways and excellent shopping facilities. We then travel to Munich airport for our return flight back to Dublin.
