ANDALUCIA, GIBRALTAR, RONDA AND GRANADA 10 DAY TOUR
This is one of our most popular tours and always sells out very quickly, with good reason. We will be staying for 9 nights in the 4 star Hotel Tropicana in Torremolinos, located on the beach with its fantastic traffic free promenade. It is close to the famous seafood restaurants and shops in Carihuela. This tour really gives you a true taste of the real Spain in a perfect location. Andalucia has a lot more to offer than just fabolous beches. On this tour you can have the best of both worlds.
Day 1
We depart Dublin on our direct Aer Lingus flight to Malaga, Spain. On arrival we are met by Frank Mackin who is leading the group and our local tour guide, then you will be transfered by coach to the 4 star Hotel Tropicana in Torremolinos where we are based for 9 nights. Located on the beach, the hotel features comfortable guestrooms decorated with much attention to assure you a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Day 2
Enjoy a day of rest and relaxation in Torremolinos. Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and an unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities and nightlife. There is also a superb selection of shops.
Day 3
After breakfast we depart on an excursion to Nerja. This historical seaside town is overlooked by dramatic mountains. It has several beaches set in charming coves between cliffs and has one of the best climates in Europe. The old quarter of the town is virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought irin terraces overflowing with geraniums. We return to our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 4
Today we depart on an excursion to Gibraltar, located on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Gibraltar is famous worldwide for its Dramatic Rock. It overlooks the Straits of Gibraltar and is linked to Spain by a narrow isthmus. Gibraltar is imposing but small. It measures less than six square kilometres in total. There is also a colony of the famous apes, the only ones in Europe to run free in a semi-wild state. Look forward to some excellent photo opportunities and indulge in some great duty free shopping. You will need to bring your passport with you to enter Gibraltar.
Day 5
Another free day to enjoy the resort of Torremolinos. Go shopping on Calle San Miguel which is at the heart of the town. This smartly paved pedestrianised street is lined with boutiques and shops with a great variety of goods on offer.
Day 6
After breakfast we depart on an excursion to Ronda. Our route through the Sierra Bermeja mountain range is breathtaking. Ronda is one of the oldest cities of Spain. Its origin, according to archaelogical findings in the old city space belongs to the Neolithic age. Ronda is probably best known for its impressive 18th century bridge, which spans a 100m deep gorge and divides the old and new part of the town. Ronda is also home to the worlds oldest bullring which dates back to 1785. We return to our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 7
Enjoy another free day in Torremolinos.
Day 8
Today we travel to the city of Granada, which is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at the confluences of the Darro and Genil rivers. Its unique history has bestowed it with an artistic grandeur embracing Moorish palaces and Christian Renaissance treasures. As the last Moorish capital on the Iberian peninsula, it also holds great symbolic value. Granada has its usual quotient of churches, museums etc. typical for a southern European city. Our local tour guide will lead us on a walking tour of the old city.
Day 9
A last chance to relax at the hotel, shopping for those last minute souvenirs or enjoy the day at the beach.
Day 10
Departure by executive coach to Malaga airport for your return flight to Dublin.
