We are delighted to offer you a 5 day trip to Holland during the festive new year period.
Once again our base is in the lovely uncommercialised city of Eindhoven. Normally tourists stay in Amsterdam which is much more expensive and not as friendly. Eindhoven is a very progressive city steeped in history and the Irish always receive a very warm welcome.
Looks can be deceiving when it comes to Eindhoven’s history, modern as the city is today, it is infact one of the oldest cities in Holland.
The centre of Eindhoven has some of the best shopping areas in Holland and fantastic restaurants and bars, virtually everyone can speak good english.
DAY 1 29 DECEMBER
We depart on our direct flight from Dublin to Eindhoven, on arrival we are met by Frank Mackin who is leading the group.
We are transferred by coach to Eindhoven, where we are based for the next four nights. As usual we will be staying at the 4 star Amrath hotel Eindhoven. www.Amrathhoteleindhoven.Nl
DAY 2 30 DECEMBER
After breakfast we travel on a full day excursion to Amsterdam, the capital city of Holland.
Amsterdam is one of Europes most beautiful cities known for its artistic canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the citys 17th century golden age. During that period Amsterdam was the centre of world economy.
JOURNEY TIME FROM EINDHOVEN TO AMSTERDAM IS APPROX 1 ½ HOURS
DAY 3 31 DECEMBER
After breakfast we travel to Cologne in Germany for a full day excursion.
Cologne is one of Germany’s oldest cities with over 2000 years of history, spanning the Rhine river. Its most famous building is the roman catholic gothic cathedral which dates back to 1248.
Its two massive towers dominate the city centre and the cathedral has become one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Europe. It is a UNESCO world heritage since 1996.
Tonight we have a buffet dinner at the hotel and the bar will be open to bring in the new year. every year our clients have had an enjoyable time singing songs and telling yarns. The local Dutch people let off fireworks outside our hotel. It is a great place to bring in the new year.
JOURNEY TIME FROM EINDHOVEN TO COLOGNE IS APPROX 2HOURS.
DAY 4 01 JANUARY
We have a free day to enjoy Eindhoven.
DAY 5 02 JANUARY
After breakfast we depart our hotel and head for Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. Brussels is a lovely cosmopolitan city full of medieval buildings and fantastic restaurants. Frank Mackin will do a short orientation tour of the city and we enjoy free time there before heading for the airport for our return flight to Dublin.
This is our planned itinerary. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control we may have to vary it slightly
